Be very careful driving through Florissant. My daughter hit a hole on an improperly maintained Florissant road that left her car in the shop for a week. Aside from the cost-the inconvenience of being without a vehicle when you're a home care worker is extreme.

As a resident of Florissant for 55+ years, I have watched this community go from a place that I was proud to call 'my community' to a place where I am embarrassed to admit I 'still' live here. The police are pitiful ... at best. The Mayor's office is a waste of time for the average resident. And the Health Department and other departments such as the City Council ... truly need to be revamped! I continually hear of the corruption within the government of this community, and that may be true. However, whatever is happening has destroyed a once respectful place to live. I grudgingly gave this city one star ...

I've loved living in Florissant for years and have tried to ignore the little issues that are adding up-ignored by the city as well it seems-but enough is enough.
Call health department or public works to report violations, nothing gets done. Simple as that. Sure, they send notice to the violator but there is no unaccountably. On top of it all, and this pretty much includes all departments (police included) the person you talk to on the other end of the phone gives the impression that you are completely wasting their time - well guess what, they are completely wasting our tax dollars.
