I used Helfer's for my custom wedding cake in October 2015. I'm originally from Florissant, but my husband and I live in Alaska so all of our correspondence (except the tasting) was long distance. We had no issues working with Helfer's. The staff was wonderful and captured what I wanted exactly! This was the best tasting cake that we had tried in STL (and we tried several!). All of our guests loved the cake as well and were asking us where we got it from!
So nice old-fashioned place when you walk in the smell is wonderful you want to buy everything you see because everything smells so good I got a minute your cheesecake and I got one of those donuts they make right before lent it was very good different but good and the cheesecake it was good as well not great but good

Today was my first visit to Helfer's. I waited for in line to ask if they had any sugar free items.. the lady at the register was nice and asked another lady who was not so accommodating said "cookies on the table and pies in the freezer" I found the cookies and was looking all through the freezer for a while...with no luck. I Not once did anyone ask if they could help. I didn't want to leave the freezer doors open long..so I just put the cookies back on the table and left. It was not a good experience in customer service.
